Chicken Salad and Missions.

Thank you to everyone who has already joined my support team. You have no idea how much the response we received in my first week alone has been a blessing to me and my family, as well as this huge testament to God's goodness and ability to provide. I appreciate your help and your prayers so much!

So, in the first week of support letters being mailed, my mom also headed up a fundraiser at her work. We made some order forms and took sack lunch orders from around her office for chicken salad croissants and brownies! Let me tell you, my mom makes some really good chicken salad...so we knew it would go over well but we were surprised to see how many people ordered! Over 70 orders! I was truly amazed...and luckily I have a mom who is super organized and fully prepared to tackle the task of getting all the orders delivered after the weekend. My Uncle Craig donated the chicken, so that took down the cost of the food by a ton. Thank you, Craig! Also, my NaNa and our friend Helen came over on Sunday afternoon to help us cook - so thank you to them as well. We definitely couldn't have done it without you.

My first official fundraiser was a success, and in addition I won a $100 at the centennial celebration at my school last Friday - money that will go straight to my trip. My tax returns came in on Friday as well, and two checks from my support letters. I finally got all my MAPS(Missions Abroad Placement Service) forms completely turned in and am in contact with the office that will help me reach MAPS status so I can be insured overseas for the summer, and I get the amazing opportunity to share my journey with my home church this coming Sunday. There is still a lot to do and a lot more money to raise, but God is showing me left and right just how good and faithful He is to equip us for whatever He asks us to do!

One more thing before I close this update - Mom - thank you so much for all you are doing. You are working so hard to help get me prepared and keep me on my toes about the things I need to do in order to make it to Japan in June. I am so blessed to have you. I know it isn't easy for you and Dad to think of me crossing an ocean and being away for a whole summer, so thank you for trusting in my vision and my passion for missions and for trusting God with me. You taught me how to have faith.

Blessings!
